BUILDINGS AND HOSTEL
|

The
Academy had an old Administrative Building, an
old Hostel, an old Lecture Hall and Residential
Quarters for the then Principal, Vice-Principal
and for other Staff. With the financial assistance
given to the SIRDs under "Strengthening of
SIRDs" by the Government of India, the Academy
has taken-up and completed the construction of
a new Administrative block of two floors, a new
hostel with 24 double rooms and a separate hostel
for women trainees some time back.

The Academy can accommodate 96 participants in
the Hostels. The Academy contains two A/C Lecture
Halls and two non-A/C Lecture Halls. It has residential
quarters for both Faculty Members and Staff. Certain
new works and improvements to the existing structures
are in progress.v

COMPUTER
CENTRE
AMR-APARD has a well-established Computer Centre.
It facilitates Computer Systems (86), Laptops
(5), Printers (17) and Scanners (8) to various
Faculty Centres. LCD Projectors (8), Over-Head
Projectors (OHPs) (8) at Conference Halls for
conducting Sessions. Further, Heavy duty Xerox
Work Centres (2) was facilitated for on-line Printing
of Material. An Intranet (Local Area Network)
with 124 Points is facilitated through structured
cabling having CAT-6 backbone for effective data
transmission. The Intranet encompasses Serves
for Local Area Network (LAN). The Centre established
Hi-speed Broadband 1mbps Internet connectivity
for browsing of Internet on all the Computer Systems
across the Institute through Intranet. An Audio
Visual Cell for Producing and Editing of Video
Films was also established. The Cell has produced
over 60 films in the last 5 to 6 years. Further,
facilitation of Video Conferencing facility is
in pipeline. |

LIBRARY
This Academy has a fairly
good Library with about 15,000 books on variety
of subjects for the benefit of both Faculty and
Participants besides membership with NIRD and
British Library. Recently, with the assistance
of Government of India, Computerisation of the
Library using Libsys package is under progress.
It is proposed to provide linkage with Libraries
of other Institutions and also provide with Internet
connection.

TRAINING
EQUIPMENT
This Academy has a number of
Audio Visual Aids like 16mm Projectors, Over-head projectors,
Tape Recording Deck, Cameras, TVs, VCR and Video Films,
etc., besides the Electronic Copy Boards. In each Course,
the participants are shown relevant films.
TRANSPORT
The Academy has one Tata Mini
Bus (32+1 seater), two Cars, one Van, one Jeep and one
Auto. Except one Bus, one Car, one Jeep and one Auto,
remaining vehicles are very old. They give frequent
mechanical trouble. As and when necessary, the Academy
hires vehicles for Participants and Guest Faculty.
